Simone Ficocelli, 23 years old, is a young emerging writer and a university student in Communication Sciences at Unimol in Campobasso. His story is an example of determination and passion that can inspire many.
Simone started writing in 2018 during a very tough time in his life. He was battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Writing became a refuge for him, a way to express his emotions. He chose to publish his stories on Wattpad, a popular online platform for young writers.
After two years of hard work and dedication, on January 14, 2020, Simone achieved one of his dreams: publishing a book. These spots allowed Simone to use his communication skills for an important cause, increasing awareness of a disease he knew very well.
2020 was a particularly important year for Simone. Besides publishing his book, he had the opportunity to present it on several occasions. He started by presenting his work at his school, the Hospitality Institute of Vinchiaturo, and then organized events in San Giuliano del Sannio, Sepino and Guglionesi. These presentations not only increased the visibility of his book but also allowed Simone to share his personal experience with a wider audience.
Before focusing on his university studies, Simone gained work experience in the hospitality industry, working in various hotels. This background taught him the importance of teamwork and customer service, skills that will surely be useful in his future career.
Currently, Simone is concentrating on his studies in Communication Sciences, aiming to enter the field of marketing once he graduates. His dream is to combine his passion for writing and communication with marketing skills, to build a career that allows him to express his talent and creativity to the fullest.
