Francesca Alotta – New Album “Diversa”, A different voice

Italian singer Francesca Alotta has recently introduced her new album, “Diversa”. The album, which features seven tracks written and composed by Francesca, reflects different stages of her life, from childhood to the present.

One of the songs is in Sicilian and includes contributions from Giovanni Sollima, a well-known cellist, and Alfio Antico, a percussionist who has worked with artists like De André and Fiorella Mannoia. The album also features drummer Elio Rivagli and Max Marcolini, who has been an arranger and co-producer for Zucchero Fornaciari for over 20 years.

Two other tracks, “Un anno di noi,” which Francesca performed at Sanremo in 1993, and “Sentimenti,” written by Aleandro Baldi, were produced by Giuseppe Di Gioia and arranged by Gabriele Semeraro with a string quartet. These songs, like her hit “Non amarmi,” were originally produced by Giancarlo Bigazzi.

Francesca hopes that “Diversa” will resonate with listeners going through difficult times, offering them some comfort by sharing her personal experiences.

The album is available for download on digital platforms, and a physical CD with a personalized dedication can be purchased from her website at https://www.francescaalottaofficial.it/negozio/. The website also offers “Anima Mediterranea,” a collection of traditional Neapolitan and Sicilian songs dedicated to her father, as well as an acoustic version of “Non amarmi” with Aleandro Baldi.

Francesca Alotta - Mediterranean Souls

Currently, Francesca is working on the script for a theatrical performance titled “Anime Mediterranee – Due donne in musica” (Mediterranean Souls – Two Women in Music), in which she will perform alongside the talented Silvia Pagni. Both artists, who are musicians and singers, will alternate between the piano and percussion, creating a captivating musical synergy.

The show is a journey through Italy’s musical history, starting from the 1700s and continuing through the post-war period. Through the most characteristic melodies of each era, the audience will be immersed in the tradition of Neapolitan music, the pizzica from Salento, and Sicilian sounds. A special moment in the performance will be dedicated to the Sicilian song Vastasa, from Francesca’s latest album.

Mediterranean Souls promises to be a rich and stimulating cultural work, blending tradition and creativity, of which Francesca is particularly proud.
