Federica Fruscella is an Italian artist who’s found her new home in Dublin, where she blends her love for Celtic folklore with the warm, soulful melodies of the Mediterranean. Her musical journey started in Italy, where childhood afternoons listening to “Fiabe Sonore” vinyl records with her grandparents ignited a lifelong love for music and narration.
She trained in jazz and pop at Rome’s Saint Louis College of Music and cultivated her art performing with groups like Piccola Banda Ikona. Her passion for narration led her to the theatre, where she discovered how to bring stories to life on stage.
Her recent move to Ireland has opened a new chapter in her creative life. In November 2023, she released her debut album, Clonmacnoise, a seven-year project that combines Celtic sounds with Mediterranean influences, showcasing her love for both traditions. Her live show, “Clonmacnoise – A Sonic Tale,” is an immersive blend of music and theatre.
Federica continues to explore cultural connections through projects like translating Neapolitan songs into Irish and searching for new Italian ballads and melodies, always aiming to build bridges between cultures. For her, music isn’t just sound; it’s a magical world where every note tells a story, and every song celebrates the human spirit. She is emerging as a fresh voice in contemporary folk music, inviting audiences to share in her rich melting pot of sounds and stories.
