Luca Pistilli, a lecturer at UCD Quinn School of Business, organised a guest lecture with his students to talk about corporate social responsibilities.
Flavour of Italy was hosted by the University to give to the students a practical example of how to embrace social aspects inside a business and how it affects the company. They discussed about different matters like motivation and well-being in the workplace, team-buildings.
The students participated actively to the conference with several questions.
The conference allowed to emphasize the importance of social enterprises not just as an ethical concept of business but also as an efficient model with strong strategic features.
Luca joined UCD as Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Strategy and International Business in 2019. Prior to joining UCD, Luca was a PhD Candidate and Course Director at Bocconi University, Milan. He obtained his PhD from Bocconi University, defending a dissertation that granted him invitations to various conferences and events, among these the prestigious Consortium on Competitiveness and Cooperation 2018, held at Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley, CA, USA. Luca has also held a visiting researcher position at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, NH, USA. Luca’s research focuses on both organizational adaptation and entrepreneurial failure. In particular, he focuses on the dynamic capabilities that support organizations when those are facing external disruptions, and how failure affects the subsequent career of entrepreneurs. Luca teaches entrepreneurship and CSR modules on the undergraduate BComm at Quinn School of Business.
