ANTONIO FINELLI is a young artist from the Molise region in Italy. He lives and works between Rome and Campobasso. He started his artistic training at the liceo G. Manzù in Campobasso and then he refined his skills at the Accademia di Belle Arti – Art College in Rome.
Through his works Finelli uses graphite on paper to represent the signs of time on the skin which express the core of his artistic research and his aesthetics.

The renowned artist Mimmo Paladino pointed out how Finelli manages to enlighten the details of the aging body to express what people aim to hide. Finelli does not provide a context: we are only left with the facial expressions and the gazes of these faces leaving us the freedom to project ourselves on to them.
Antonio Finelli said about his work: “I am continuously obsessed by the sloughing of the body through time. In fact, I don’t like to represent in a drawing the oldness itself but rather the passage of time that ends necessarily in this human state. I am deeply in love with the human body, with the skin — its most external layer, that absorbs and records all the experiences of our life — but most of all I am interested in a body’s evolution, its transformation, throughout the years. I am intrigued by the signs, lines, points, which enrich our cutis year after year and testify all the changes of our lives.”
